Position: MRV Coordinator, FNDS

Aristides Muhate has 17 years of experience in the forest sector both with the Government and private sector, working in law enforcement, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis and data management, operations management, project design, management and coordination. He started his career in 2004 as a technician in the Forest Department at the National Directorate of Forest and Wildlife, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and then also served as the Provincial Head of Department of Forest and Wildlife in the Forestry Services in Nampula until 2007. In 2008 he started his journey on REDD+ in the private sector until 2013. In 2014 he rejoined the Government working on the design and implementation of REDD+ projects. He is currently coordinating the MRV Unit and supporting other FNDS projects. Aristides has a master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Pretoria and honors in forest engineering from Eduardo Mondlane University. His passion is data science, quality management and systems thinking and analysis.
