Alain Liva Raharijaona, is the Executive Director of the Foundation for Protected Areas and Biodiversity in Madagascar since November 2019. Alain, holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne (France) and a postgraduate diploma in Management from the University of Paris IX- Dauphine. From 2007 to 2019, he was Economic Advisor at the Embassy of Madagascar in Brussels. In the public sector, he was Non-Permanent Advisor to the Ministry of Commerce, responsible for international trade negotiations, and Non-Permanent Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, responsible for relations with the private sector.
Alain, held various responsibilities in the private sector: President and CEO of industrial companies (Hydrauma and Feroflex) for 18 years, Coordinator of the Integrated Trade Framework Project (UNDP/World Bank/WTO), Director of FIVMPAMA, International Vice President of the Francophone Business Forum, Vice President of the Syndicat des Industries de Madagascar (SIM). From 2015 to 2019, he was a member of the Board of Directors of FAPBM and Chairman of the Investment Committee.
